Cloud Applications are essentially online applications that allow you to do stuff through your internet browser instead of using an installed program on your computer. If you've ever watched TVNZ on demand or checked your Hotmail, used Facebook or watched YouTube then you have used cloud apps or commonly known also as Cloud Computing.
Are there many cloud apps available?
There are thousands of cloud apps available in the market place today. While this is good for choice it can make the decision process tedious as you try various differing versions of cloud apps to find the right fit.
"Our job is to help you with that process. Because we live and breathe cloud apps and have tried close to 1300 applications (and still going) finding you the right fit becomes a much easier process"
What are the benefits to me as a business owner?
- Agility. As a shared resource, the cloud provides flexible, automated management to distribute the computing resources among the cloud's users.
- Cost is often greatly reduced and capital expenditure is converted to operational expenditure.
- Device and location independence enable users to access systems using a web browser regardless of their location or what device they are using.
- Reliability improves through the use of multiple redundant sites, which makes cloud computing suitable for business continuity and disaster recovery. Some cloud computing services have suffered outages, and IT and business managers can at times do little when they are affected. In our experience you are more likely to suffer hardware related downtime than you are online generated downtime.
- Scalability via "on-demand" provisioning of resources on a self-service basis near real-time.
- Security is often as good as or better than traditional in-house systems, in part because providers are able to devote resources to solving security issues that many customers cannot afford and also because data is always available there is less need to take data offsite on removable storage.
- Maintenance cloud computing generally does not require maintenance since they don't have to be installed on each user's computer. They are easier to support and to improve since the changes reach the clients instantly.
- Metering cloud computing resources usage are normally measurable and can be metered per user and per application on daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. This enables business owners to choose the vendor cloud on cost and reliability.
